Books for Breakfast & Literacy for Lunch
Photo Gallery
The Books for Breakfast program was started in 2007 by a dedicated pre-school teacher and a wonderful team of volunteers. It is the only event of its kind in the Westshore and on Southern Vancouver Island. This program is in its 5th year and has grown exponentially since then with upwards of 150 people in attendance. By popular demand we are thrilled to announce a second program - Literacy for Lunch! Similar to Books for Breakfast, this program hosts a variety of local readers, great books, interactive songs, activities and healthy food. Children are given a brand new book to add to their home library, and a personal photo capturing their literacy experience. Parents and caregivers will be exposed to great children’s literature and some simple ways of modeling literacy.
We are looking for some great people to volunteer at these events!
